In editing this photo, I removed people and objects other than the ones I wanted (in this case, my daughter, a blue whale, and its tank). This editing method is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I learned that I could use the skin > clone function in Touch up to remove objects that are not needed. As the name implies, this method involves painting over the area you want to remove with another part of the image. In this way, I covered people other than the girl with pieces of the tank and the floor.
I also attempted to adjust the brightness of the image taken indoors at the aquarium under dark lighting conditions. I used the Enhance DLX, HDR DLX, Exposure, Auto enhance, and clarity functions and coordinated them in various ways. The image (right) is the result of changing and combining these functions little by little. I would have liked to make the people a little brighter and more apparent, so I would like to continue my studies.

This photo is a selfie. I edited it to make it a face photo that can be used as a portrait. The original picture (left) was taken with the smartphone app Soda, and then I adjusted the color tone and brightness of the entire skin using befuncky. With Soda, you can change the whole image, but it isn't easy to adjust the details, so I focused on that point when editing. I erased the dark spots on my face with Perfect skin and Blemish Fix in Touch up, colored each part with mascara, lipstick, eyebrow pencil, and made the eye color green. As mentioned above, all of them are colored with a brush, so it was like applying makeup to the face.
Besides, I wanted the background to be plain to give it a portrait-like finish. I used a function called isolate subject from erasing in Background and deleted the part other than the person. And I applied a solid color to the blank background part. Finally, I added the Frame feature to make it look more like a portrait.

Underpainting

Cartoonizer

Graphic novel
In this image, I tried my hand at editing the landscape. The original photo was taken in a sunflower field in Knoxville by myself. I wanted to explore the potential of this landscape image to be used in course design. Artsy has several artistic methods, such as Digital art, Poly art, Mosaic, and Gouache pointillism. I could choose from more techniques such as underpainting, cartomizer, graphic novel, impressionist, oil paint, watercolor, ink wash, and cross-hatch pop art in Digital art.
The underpainting and cartomizer turned the image into something that could be used in a comic or cartoon animation. I thought that the underpainting's editing was closer to the anime that is being made into a movie these days because they are very particular about the details. The graphic novel changed the message the image sends. This kind of expression has been done manually and depended heavily on the artist's senses. However, I have learned that this kind of editing function can increase the user's artistic expression baseline and expand the freedom of expression for more learners.
